Merger with KTF


On June 1st, 2009, KT and KTF merged to form one company under the KT brand. KTF, now KT, is a South Korean mobile telecommunications firm with extensive overseas operations. The company, before the merger with KT, had 12 million subscribers in South Korea. Today that figure is 13.7m subs. The company is credited with developing customised ring back tones.
